50 Cent Named Songwriter of the Year
Tuesday May 23, 2006
Mr. Curtis "Billion Dollar Budget" Jackson has been named "songwriter of the year" by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (that's ASCAP in case you're still wondering). 50 Cent was honored for his contribution to five award-winning songs. Other artists honored by ASCAP include rockers Green Day, Annie Lennox, and Jermaine Dupri for co-penning Mariah Carey's smash, "We Belong Together."
Congrats to Fiddy, but I really wonder if these ASCAP folks have ever heard of that brand new kid on the block named Kanye West, or this other new chick that goes by Mary J Blige.
