Nas, Common, Others Share Stage With The Roots

Monday May 8, 2006
Hip-hop's #1 live crew, The Roots, are set to make history with their upcoming Radio City Hall concert. The May 18, 2006 event will see The Roots performing with Talib Kweli, Nas, Common, Mos Def, and other "surprise" guests. "If you have to ask yourself, 'I wonder if such-and-such will be there?,' chances are they will be there," Roots drummer, Ahmir "?uestlove" Thompson told MTV. Roots drummer, ?uestlove also revealed that playing at Radio City was a huge dream of his. Interestingly, The Roots ensemble has performed with everyone from Jay-Z to Black Star, but this will be their first outing with Nas. The Philadelphia crew will also be using the show as a charity event for their friend and deceased hip-hop producer, J Dilla.
