Interview With M-1 of dead prez

Saturday April 22, 2006
As members of the unapologetic socially aware rap crew known to the world as dead prez, M-1 and Stic.man helped catapult hip-hop to a higher level with their mix of political missives - which some mislabel as racist - and sterling music. As underappreciated as M-1 and Stic.man might be, they've enriched hip-hop's catalog with nothing short of exceptional albums: 2000's Let's Get Free and 2004's RBG:Revolutionary But Gangsta, not to mention countless of notable mix tapes. I recently caught up with M-1 to discuss some throbbing issues. Why did he choose to fly solo on M-1 Confidential? Where is Stic.man? Has dead prez broken up? M-1 answers your questions and mine in this 'confidential' interview. Let's go!
