Eminem's friend, Proof Murdered, Suspect Turns Himself In

Hip-hop has lost another one. Eminem's longtime friend, hype man, and D-12 peer, Proof (born DeShaun Holton), was shot and killed this morning. Proof reportedly suffered a gunshot to the head while at CCC Club on East 8 Mile Road. Another victim, Keith Bender, was struck as well, and is said to be in critical condition.
The 32-year old Detroit rapper is one of many victims in Michigan's on-going hip-hop shootings. Last year, another friend of Eminem's, Obie Trice was shot in the head, and he's still awaiting surgery to remove the bullet.
Update: New reports have surfaced on the circumstances surrounding Proof's death. According to police reports, Proof was involved in an altercation with a party close to 35-year old Keith Bender. It's been established so far that the rapper let off the first shot in the club shootout that ended his life. The shot allegedly hit Bender in the head, leaving him in critical condition. Proof was shot in the head as well, but was pronounced dead on arrival at St. John Holy Cross Hospital. Mario Etheridge, a bouncer at the CCC club who is suspected to have shot Proof has reportedly turned himself in, and is being held in custody by the Detroit Police Department. Proof was the best man at Eminem's January 2006 wedding. Memorial arrangements are still being made for the dead rapper.
I fiind it strange that this is another case of life imitating art. Does anyone remember Eminem's music video for "Like Toy Soldiers," which depicts Proof being shot and hauled off to a hospital?

The Source, XXL, and most news sources, reported comments from Trice that he WAS shot in the Head, so unless you shot him or was there, don’t mention that B.S. rumor.
Also, stop the whole “Hip Hop” war crap. There isn’t a interrelated war everytime a figure dies. There are many seperate beefs, and although some are deep-seeded many of these are quick reactionary things. I’ve seen people shot over comments made over a shirt someone was wearing. I’m sick of reading the “hip-hop” war mess. Just report that there was a fight, killing, and wait untill some hardcore “proof” pardon the pun comes out- before writing that this particular death is based on a ongoing war.

I chose to report all those events on the same page so people can really see the intensity of these unfortunate shootings, not for you to misconstrue my statements. But, hey everyone’s entitled to an opinion. But let’s not sit here and pretend like there’s never been any such thing as a hip-hop war. The more we neglect these things (to save face?), the more it degenerates. Let’s be a solution not an addition to the problem.

There’s definately something going on in Detroit with Shady Aftermath. 1st Trice, then Busta was shot at, and now Proof! Its all f**kin’ bullsh*t, people need to sort their lives out. it’s just too sad that some people would indulge in senseless killings over nothing. Proof was extremely talented and hadn’t even scratched the surface off his solo career. Very sad.

May I suggest that this is another proof (the word!) that the universal law of attraction works. Whatever we think, observe, imagine, express and talk about, the universe responds to us by bringing about in the reality of our lives the nature of our thoughts. Proof’s death that Eminem expressed in the video, actually happened in the reality of his life and also the people close to him and fans.
